In the Spirit of festivities and in demonstration of his love for his People, a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, recently hosted members of Usagbe Communities in Uzairue Kingdom in Etsako West local Government Area of Edo State with a lavish new year party.
Indeed, the New Year Party Organized by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole cannot be overemphasized. It was an avenue for reunion being the first of it’s kind to be Convened by the former Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President.
Historically, Usagbe Comprises of five Communities in Uzairue Kingdom namely, Iyamho, Ikholo, Ogbido, Ayaoghena and Uluoke who came together to foster unity and to speak with one voice.
The ceremony which took place at Oshiomhole’s Country home at Iyamho had in attendance traditional Rulers, Religious leaders and members of the Political class across party divides.
In his welcome address, Comrade Oshiomhole thanked the people for honouring his invitation and emphasized the importance of the people in any Community.
The former Edo Governor expressed gratitude to God for the sense and direction He has given to him.
While thanking Almighty God for neutralizing the Arrows and Weapons of the Enemies against him, the former Governor, said, the gathering was about celebrating God’s blessings and faithfulness in the lives of Usagbe People.
He reiterated that the words of Elders are words of wisdom, stressing that the importance of unity in a Community cannot be overemphasized. He also urged the Usagbe members to develop the spirit of forgiveness to receive the blessings of Almighty God.
The former APC National Chairman used the medium to pray for the traditional Rulers in the Community and the entire Uzairue Kingdom to be guided with the knowledge and wisdom of God to pilot the affairs of the community.
Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, no doubt brought Edo North from the perifery to the epicenter of National Politics. His friendly policies and populist programmes contributed in no measure to the successes recorded by his administration as the Governor of Edo State.
