The Chief Imam of Ekperi Kingdom, Sheikh Mohammed Ochinimhe, has urged Muslim Faithfuls to imbibe by the lessons of Eidel Kabir celebration.
In his message made available to Glory News, Sheikh Ochinimhe, said, Eid-el-Kabir is a test from Almighty Allah to know whether Prophet Ibrahim would sacrifice his only Son to him (God) despite the fact that he waited so long before he gave birth to Ismael.
According to him, God saw the heart (Willingness) of Prophet Ibrahim before HE appeared to him in a dream to slaughter a Ram in replace the Son.
Sheikh Ochinimhe further reiterated that the source of the money to purchase the Ram should be of great concern to Muslims and the Ram should not have any blemish to be accepted by God.
The Cleric said it is more rewarding to slaughter a Ram than any other animals as instructed by the Holy Quran.
Sheila Ochinimhe, said, Allah introduced Eid-el-Kabir and other Muslim celebrations to prevent the Muslim faithfuls not be carried away with the celebrations of the unbelievers.
He asserted that Eidel Kabir is a period of showing love to our Neighbours and those around us..
He urged Muslims to have a sober reflection on the significance of the celebration.
According to him, Muslims and Non Muslims alike should pray for the peace, progress, sustainable development and unity of the country.
He counselled Muslims to join hands together to build a prosperous and better Nigeria that we all be proud of in the comity of Nations.
He also enjoined Adherents of the Islamic Faith to sustain the virtues of tolerance, forgiveness, Love, Patience, self discipline, sacrifice and genuine commitment to the Nation.
While felicitating with the Muslim Faithfuls on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Cleric urged Nigerians to promote acts that can unite the country and wish all Muslims a peaceful celebration.
