The National/State House of Assembly Election Tribunal, which convened in Benin, has upheld Edo APC frontline governorship aspirant, Dennis Idahosa’s election as the esteemed member representing Ovia federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
Idahosa’s triumph was challenged by PDP candidate Omosede Igbinedion on two grounds. However, the court dismissed the case, solidifying Idahosa’s victory as the APC candidate.
This marks the fifth time that Dennis Idahosa will be defeating Omosede Igbinedion in their political battles. Notably, in 2019, Idahosa successfully unseated Igbinedion, who was seeking a second term. Igbinedion also challenged Idahosa’s victory in the election tribunal and appeal court, but both attempts were dismissed, affirming Idahosa’s win.
Most recently was during the just concluded 2023 general election, Idahosa emerged triumphant once again, securing his second term to represent the Ovia federal constituency, and now, the tribunal judgement delivered today the 8th day of September 2023.
