Why President Tinubu Should As A Matter Of Urgency Sacks Auchi Polytechnic Rector Over Incessant School Fees Increment Part 1

The founding founder of Ikpeminoghena Foundation For Peace, a well-known Non-government organisation (NGO), Comr. Idodo Emmanuel Abdulrasak has expressed strong worries over the incessant increment of school fees in Federal Polytechnic Auchi.

Idodo urged the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to “as a matter of urgency, sack the Auchi Polytechnic Rector, Dr. Shehu S. Umar charged him to stop the everyday, session, and yearly school fees hike before it degenerates to crisis in Auchi.

Apart from the school fees increment, where some students now pay 128,000, 145,000, 150,000, and 155,000 respectively, the Rector has also increased store rent and all the shops in Eboriemhe market in the school premises. As we speak, students are now wanderers. Some abandoned their admission.

“When there was no increment of fee, some students were struggling to pay while some others couldn’t pay. Some go extra miles to get money for their fees. Some engage in cyber crime, prostitution, kidnapping, and other social vices just to pay fees.

“Now that you are increasing the fees, staying it’s Federal Government directives and Federal government didn’t as asked All federal government institutions to reduce tutor fees. what are you telling them to do? Remember you are increasing the fees, but the salaries of the parents remain the same. How do you expect the students to survive?”

Idodo expressed that the government had the constitutional responsibility to provide affordable education for its citizens, and as such, they must adopt other sources to fund the sector, which Auchi Polytechnic is part of as a federal school.

We will not accept any increament in this time of hardship, so we are calling on Mr President to immediately call the Rector to Order or been sack .
