In one of her quotes, the Akoko Edo Federal Constituency frontline aspirant for the Federal House of Assembly; Hon Adetutu Owolabi maintained, “If, without government money, I could single-handedly start the building of a hospital from the scratch and renovated a school that the WAEC/SSCE body abandoned due to the danger it posed to the lives of learners in my ward, what else could I not do, even better, to develop Akoko Edo if allowed to serve the good people of Akoko Edo Local Government Area as a House of Representative member?”
The afore referenced passion-filled quote by a woman with an extraordinary stride is evidently justified by the just concluded work on the Afeye Secondary School, Ikiran Ile as shown in the attached photographs. This is not politics or politicking, it is not audio-political, it is not ‘ear-marked’ but ‘eye-marked’. It is not a project being facilitated by any government but completely completed by a concerned individual, a philanthropist, an unpaid carer, a passionate development strategist, and an uncommon demonstrator of listening and servant leadership in our modern-day democracy.
Therefore, dear delegates, the political and developmental future of Akoko Edo, at this critical moment, lies on your thumbs and conscience. The ephemeral and aesthetic inducements rolling out from various quartres of highly concerned candidates should not be a preparatory slab upon which the Akoko Edo future would be slain.
