Reps.2023: Tension in PDP Over Anamero’s Plan To Do Palliative Works On Jagbe Road.
There is a palpable fear and tension in the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) over the decision of the APC candidate for House of Representatives in the forthcoming election, Ambassador Sunday Anamero Dekeri to use his personal resources to do palliative works on the dilapidated and eroded Jagbe Road.
The tension is understandably as a result of the negative consequences which Danco’s decision would have on the PDP candidates, particularly the factional House of Representatives candidate, who have been campaigning in Jagbe without making any meaningful statement of commitment to make the road better than the present deplorable state.
According to available reports, the factional PDP campaign organization that is mostly rattled by Danco’s promise is the House of Representatives candidate who hitherto, appeared to have been considering getting some meaningful votes from Jagbe as a result of its proximity to his place of origin. This permutation has been punctured and altered by the political dexterity and humanitarian deposition of the APC candidate, Mr Anamero Dekeri.
As a result of Danco’s pronouncement and his readiness to fulfill his promise, the factional PDP is said to be making desperate and nefarious efforts to truncate the plans of the APC candidate. In this regard, the PDP is said to be considering two major options. One is to use the state Government apparatus by doing a formal letter to Mr Dekeri, informing him of Government plans to commence reconstruction work on the road, thereby tactically stopping him from effecting palliative works on the road. The second option said to be on the PDP table is to use some willing PDP youths to forcibly stop the proposed palliative works. This second option according to sources is seen as impractical because any attempt by anyone to stop Danco from doing palliative works on the said road, would be resisted by all well meaning people in Jagbe including the youths.
Meanwhile, a close confidant of the PDP candidate who is also a member of the PPD House of Representatives Campaign Organization is reportedly raising serious objections to the plans of the PDP and he is reportedly threatening resignation from PDP if Danco is stopped from fulfilling his promise. According to him, “…the road has been terribly bad over a long period of time. We have written and made representations to the Government both at the State and Local Government levels ,but nothing has been done about the road. I don’t think we would accept any attempt by anybody including the Government to stop Danco from effecting palliative works on the road. If that is done , I shall give up on PDP and its candidates and resign my membership of the party immediately.
It would be recalled that Mr Anamero Dekeri, while giving his goodwill message during the just concluded Auchi Day Celebration, lamented the poor condition of Jagbe Road and the Government inability to fix the road, considering the fact that communities in the axis have virtually been cut off from the rest parts of Etsako, Edo State and Nigeria. He therefore promised to do palliative repairs of the road as part of his humanitarian works.
Ambassador Sunday Anamero Dekeri, an unequaled and unmatchably benevolent philanthropist who recently awarded Senior Secondary School Examination enrollment scholarship to a whopping number of 1049 Etsako Students is the candidate of APC for House of Representatives in the forthcoming National Assembly election
