- Growing Popularity and Achievements of Sunny Ekpeson in Etsako East Fuel Envy, Baseless Allegations — Media Aide
…Insists the Chairman remains focused on delivering good governance despite criticisms
The Media Aide to the Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council, Agbukor Lucky Apeakhuye, has strongly dismissed what he described as “sponsored criticisms, bitterness and baseless allegations” against the Council Chairman, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, insisting that the administration remains focused on delivering quality governance and transformative leadership to the people.
In a statement made available to journalists, Apeakhuye said the council leadership would not be distracted by political tantrums and vendettas orchestrated by individuals who are uncomfortable with the Chairman’s rising profile and impressive record of achievements.
“We do not pay attention to the politics of clumsiness, bitterness and vendettas. Neither are we surprised that some individuals have been paid to continue throwing tantrums at our Chairman, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, as we expect more of their antics. This is because he is now a public figure whose achievements are speaking louder than the noise of his detractors,” he stated.
According to him, just two years ago, little or nothing negative was said about the Chairman. However, now that he occupies the office of Chairman and his administration continues to tackle longstanding challenges while recording unprecedented successes, envy and jealousy have become the driving forces behind what he described as imaginary claims and fabricated allegations.
Apeakhuye stressed that political attacks are not unusual in public service, noting that politicians understand the sacrifices and pressures associated with leadership.
“These attacks are not new to us. We are politicians and we know what is at stake. What remains important is that the people of Etsako East are witnessing the dividends of democracy and are the ultimate judges of performance,” he added.
Highlighting the Chairman’s accomplishments, the Media Aide pointed to the significant strides recorded in security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.
He noted that under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, insecurity in Etsako East has been drastically curtailed, incessant killings halted, and criminal elements driven away, thereby restoring peace and confidence across communities.
He further listed numerous developmental projects executed by the administration, including the construction, rebuilding, and renovation of schools; revitalization of healthcare facilities; rehabilitation of roads; creation of employment opportunities; strengthening of the local security architecture; and the award of scholarships to indigenous sons and daughters of Etsako East.
“These are visible projects that speak for themselves. The Chairman remains committed to the welfare of the people and will not be distracted by sponsored critics whose sole objective is to undermine progress,” Apeakhuye emphasized.
He urged residents and supporters of the administration to remain focused, united, and steadfast, assuring them that the council leadership would continue to prioritize development, peace, and prosperity for all communities in Etsako East.
The Media Aide reaffirmed that no amount of blackmail, propaganda, or politically motivated distractions would deter Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson from his unwavering commitment to the transformation of Etsako East. He stressed that while critics may continue to spread falsehoods, the Chairman remains focused on delivering impactful governance, uplifting communities, and building a legacy of peace, progress, and prosperity.
“History will always remember those who build, not those who distract. The people of Etsako East can see the difference, and their confidence in this administration remains our greatest motivation,” Apeakhuye concluded.
