In a bid to cushion the effect of the recent flood that sacked some parts of Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State, the Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo North District and immediate past National Chairman of the Party,, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole yesterday donated a truck of Rice to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Oghomhere- Ekperi.
Represented by the Director-General of his Campaign Council, Mallam Abdulganiyu Lawani, the Former Edo State Governor, said, the gesture was borne out of his Unquenchable determination to touch the lives of his People and the need to identify with them in their trying period.
Comrade Oshiomhole noted that the responsibility of taking care of IDP must not rest on government alone, but on all Patriotic Nigerians .
The Former Edo Governor stressed the need for all IDP Camps in the Country to be well equipped to meet International Standard with a view to giving the affected Victims sense of belonging and encouraged them not to be discouraged by their present situation.
The Ex APC National Chairman called for sustained prayers to end flood menace.. He also urged the flood Victims to be proactive to government warning to always relocate to upland to avoid loss of lives and property.
He said if elected as the Senator representing Edo North at the Red Chamber, he would ensure that the People of the District receive democracy dividends from the Federal Government.
The Former Nigeria Labour Congress President said that the Federal Government had taken several measures to build infrastructure and improve the quality of life of the people.
In his remark, the Deputy State Chairman of the APC and Deputy Director General of the Campaign Council, Mr. Jarret Tenebe commended the Former Governor for alleviating the sufferings of the Victims in the affected Local Government Areas.
Mr. Tenebe asserted that Comrade Oshiomhole has the Capacity to provide the needed representation that would consolidate and continue to ensure the gains of democracy in the senatorial district and appealed to them to vote enmasse for all APC candidates in the general election.
The Deputy State Chairman of the APC further said that the Former NLC President was a tested and trusted Leader who would unite and join other Progressives to move Edo North forward.
The Chairman of the party in the Council Area, Comrade John Saliu thanked the former APC National Chairman for having the People at heart and called on the Victims to support and vote APC in the forthcoming general.
On the part, the Edo State House of Assembly Candidate in Etsako Central Constituency, Barr. Ahmed Waziri Oshomah, said APC was committed and concerned about their welfare and urged them to reciprocate the gesture by voting for all the party’s candidates.
On the entourage of the APC Senatorial Candidate were Mallam Abdulganiyu Audu, Mr. Jarret Tenebe, Barr. Ahmed Waziri Oshomah, Comrade John Saliu, House of Assembly Candidates, Political Associates and Leaders of the party in the area.
