Edo North 2023: End Of The Road As Senator Alimikhena’s Ward Rejects His Third Term Bid, Passes Vote of Confidence On Etsako East APC Party Exco

Leaders and Members of Ward three of Etsako East All Progressives Congress (APC), the Ward of the Senator representing Edo North, Francis Alimikhena yesterday the 20th of February, 2022 held an enlarged Ward meeting at Iviukwe, the headquarters of the Ward.

At the meeting a resounding vote of confidence was passed on the LGA APC party Executives led by Hon. Peter Okponokhe.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Canvassers of Ward three for the third term ambition of the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial district in the National Assembly, Senator Francis Alimikhena (APC) was well received.

After stating their reason for being at the meeting which was to get the support of the entire ward for Alimikhena’s third term ambition, it was agreed by all present that there has never been third term at the Senate in the senatorial district and do not support the Senator’s third term bid. That the Senator should be grateful to the Ward that he is successfully completing a second term.

The Leaders and Party Executives said that the Ward will not be allowed to be a clog in the wheel of political all -inclusiveness and participation by other parts of the Senatorial district.

And so, shall vehemently resist any attempt to foist him on the ward.The Ward Party Members also expressed their gratefulness to all members that supported in ensuring the Senator’s terms at the upper chambers of the National Assembly are successfully running through.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ward, Mallam Abass Kanabe expressed gratitude over the fact that the Senator sent his third term canvassers to their meeting , an indication that he has recognized them as the properly constituted Executives of the Ward. He described Senator Alimikhena’s tenure elongation attempt as being completely unnecessary and must be quickly discarded.

The Party Chairman, advised that instead of asking for another term, the Senator should now sit back to build and provide leadership for the party. He reiterated that they are ready to join hands with other critical stakeholders to source and present a capable candidate for the 2023 Senatorial election.

The Party Chairman commended the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba and other Leaders of the Party in the Ward including Mr. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, Felix Akhamokhior, and Iwenakhai Cosmas amongst others for their unflinching contributions towards the unity, development and progress of the Party in the Area.

In his remark, the home -based Leader of the Party in the Ward and former Deputy Speaker of Etsako East Legislative Arm, Hon. Felix Akhamieokhor Oghenaluamhe, urged the Senator to forget about his third term bid and show gratitude to the Party for giving him the Platform to achieve his long desired dream of becoming a Senator after Several failed attempts under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The former Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Arm,said the Senator Should take a bow and leave the Stage honourably to earn the respect of Party members .
It will be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission ,(INEC) has given June this year for Political Parties to conduct their primaries as ammended in the new Electoral Law.
