Hon. Prince Kassim Afegbua’s AIT interview was not the tissue of “baseless” and “misleading” lies that Comrade Bernard Ini frantically tries to peddle in his amateurish, ill-formed , poorly written damage-control essay.
The truth Hon. Prince Kassim Afegbua courageously laid bare is exactly as he stated: Engr. Abubakar Momoh personally compiled and imposed the full list of councillorship candidates across Etsako East, including Kassim Ward 5, in brazen violation of the APC’s own ward-level selection process. Bernard Ini’s desperate narrative of “transparent” ward meetings and “collective decision-making” is pure fiction; those gatherings were staged window-dressing after the Minister had allegedly already dictated the names from Abuja. *Calling Afegbua’s exposure “reckless” only reveals how deeply embarrassed the Minister’s defenders are by the naked imposition.
Bernard Ini’s attempt to discredit Afegbua’s credibility is even more risible and laughable. While he mocks the Commissioner for operating between Abuja and Benin, he conveniently ignores that Momoh, a whole federal minister, has shamelessly reduced himself to a ward-level puppeteer, working openly at cross purposes with Governor Monday Okpebholo.
The laughable claim that Momoh operates “far above petty ward-level politics” collapses under its own weight; if his priority is truly “meaningful development,” why is he busy single-handedly installing councillors and undermining the Governor he claims to support?
Afegbua’s so-called absence from Okpella is irrelevant, and baseless attack to his personality; what matters is that he refused to stay silent while the grassroots were being trampled.
For instance, while Ministers like WIKE are busy playing heavy national politics and high-level State Politics of much more relevance, another Minister is sitting under the cashew trees in Etsako compiling COUNCILLORSHIP CANDIDATES LIST, a tasks he shouldn’t even associate himself with.😂.
Comrade Bernard Ini’s entire write-up is nothing but a poorly rehearsed pack of lies crafted to shield his pay master and his sponsors at the expense of party unity and democratic norms. At a time when Edo APC desperately needs transparency, Bernard Ini’s propaganda only confirms how accurate Afegbua’s statements truly are. The people of Etsako East and Edo State at large are not fooled; they can see the high-handed manipulation for what it is. Afegbua deserves applause for speaking truth to power, while Bernard Ini’s desperate defence merely exposes the very rot it was written to conceal.
2027 is near, the Presidency needs Ministers who can influence large number of votes across length and breadth of this country, not Minister who sleeps and think of how he would write Councillorship list, because his political capacity is limited to a very small sphere of a community of people 😂.
Can’t some people learn mature, standard politics from WIKE once and for all?
