Permit me to say this pronto, that Sunday Ekpetika Akiotu, is not just a man of ambition, but a servant-leader whose life has been a testament to selfless service, integrity, and progressive thinking. From the dusty streets of a rural community called Iviukwe to the heart of our bustling towns in Edo State and beyond the shores of Nigeria “Ekpeson” as he is fondly called has walked among the people, listened to their concerns, and worked to find real, lasting solutions to the peoples’ plight.

To be candid, what sets “Ekpeson” apart is his deep connection to the grassroots. Born and raised in Iviukwe Etsako East Local Government Area in Edo State, he understands the daily realities faced by ordinary people because he has lived it. He believes that good governance begins at the local level, as the saying goes “charity begins at home” and that the power to transform a Local Government lies in listening to its people.

Silver nor gold I have none, but I present to you Sunday Ekpetika Akiotu the home boy who has crossed oceans and continents, embracing the richness of cultures far beyond his own. With every passport stamp, he has collected not just memories, but wisdom learning to navigate unfamiliar streets, taste new traditions, and connect with people from every corner of the globe. His international travels speak to a spirit of his curiosity, adaptability, and open-mindedness that few possess. Overtime, this political guru has proven that the world is both vast and intimately connected and he has move through it with grace, respect, and a genuine hunger for his people to understand it more deeply that the good people of Etsako East must be liberated from the shackles of poverty.

However, long before this refined gentleman with political milieu called “Ekpeson” dreamt of seeking political office, he had already become a beacon of hope for the good people of Etsako East Local Government Area and beyond. Whether through philanthropic initiatives, youth empowerment programs, educational scholarships, or grassroots development efforts, he has always prioritized people over politics.

Succinctly put, in “Ekpeson”, we see a rare blend of empathy and excellence. A man who listens not just with ears, but with a heart tuned to the cries of the people. A man who believes that the true measure of success is not wealth or power, but the number of lives uplifted.

At this juncture, I wish to go down memory lane to say without mincing words, that his humility disarms critics, and his actions speak louder than a thousand campaign promises. Ekpeson envisions a local government that works for everyone, a government that will improve on what he is known for which are building of roads, schools, healthcare facilities, pipe borne water for communities, poverty alleviation programs, and he will continue to build trust, opportunity, and restore the dignity of the good people of Etsako East.

As he seeks to serve the good people of Etsako East Local Government Area, his vision is rooted in a deep commitment to the growth, unity, and well-being of the people of Etsako East. We believe that true leadership is about service, and that meaningful progress can only be achieved when every voice is heard, every life is valued, and every community is included. His goal is to lead with transparency, fairness, and a focus on development that touches every sector, from education and healthcare to infrastructure, security, and economic empowerment. Together, we can build a future where our communities thrive, our youths are inspired, and our shared potentials are fully realized.

Furthermore, as we approach election season, the choice before us is clear. Do we continue with business as usual, or do we embrace a new era of inclusive and people-centered leadership? With Ekpeson, we are not just electing a leader, we are voting for progress, for security of lives and properties, for accountability, and for a future where every voice is heard.

As a final point, let us all be aware that in a time of recycled rhetoric and failed promises, “Ekpeson” is a breath of fresh air. Not because he speaks louder, but because he acts better. Not because he seeks power, but because he seeks to serve. I must pitch my tent here by saying that this is the leader we all have been waiting for. A leader whose hands are clean, whose heart is open, and whose vision is bold.
